This morning we’ll be finishing the last of the trilogy of One Cycle Spin mixes. The listing says there are only 8 tracks, so we’re going to hit this one hard and fast. Get your heart rate pumping into the weekend with a 30-minute spinning session. It’s Friday the 13th baby and we’re heading for one big, steady climb!

1. TMH warmup 2. WUS quick legs to match the BPM, it’s a challenge right up front – try chasing that beat. Half way, crank up the resistance and get up out the saddle and slow it down….

I was quite intrigued by the title of today’s yoga practice. If like me you have no idea what Shakti yoga is, then listen up… The Hindu god Shakti represents the feminine energy of creation. Shakti yoga is basically linking your breathe to your movements, which is then supposed to awaken the energy within. Think, breathing into a more flowy type of practice today with great stretches and one last leg strengthener. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mDyGogsMtQ

Time for One Cycle Spin Mix 2! But unfortunately this track list isn’t particularly exciting for me. Just a few too many house mixing/remixing of Radio Top 40s. Here’s my guide to the 2nd mix in the trilogy.

1. GF warmup 2. WIRTJ seated climb 3. MSOM stay seated, turn the resistance down a little to match the pace of the BPM. But don’t turn it down too much, it shouldn’t be easy 4. PANS pick up the pace, turn the resistance down to a chase. If chasing the beat becomes too much, try to at least…

I took a little break from Adriene yesterday. Not because I needed one, but you know how life goes. Which is why I was happy to return to an easy and restful Sun Salutation practice this afternoon. Sun Salutations sometimes get a bad rap for being boring and repetitive, but they’re actually really great for stirring up your energy and reviving tired muscles. And even though I went through this practice near the end of the day, I really enjoyed Adriene’s invitation to set an intention. Whether it’s for the rest of the day or just the rest of this…

This morning I found a trio of One Cycle spinning mixes, which look promising. After reading a previous mix spinning guideline I’ve decided to follow Molly’s lead and add the song title abbreviations with the track numbers, in case some are on shuffle, or if you’ve got a crappy Internet connection like mine and the tracks skip. Anyhoo, this is playlist 1 of 3.

1. RYL Warm up. It’s pretty quick, but only go as fast as you feel comfortable going, it’s a warm up, not a sprint. 2. COTL Seated climb 3. YDM Stay seated and…

After this morning, I am now convinced that the Soul Cycle spinning sessions are definitely more chilled and relaxed than a regular spinning class. Not that I’m complaining. It’s just an observation. Today I found a playlist that had great usage suggestions. It took me a while to figure out what exactly Molly meant by her abbreviations, but then I figured out that they were the names of the tracks. I’m not sure if she had set the playlist to shuffle (or if that’s even possible) but the tracks did not play in order of listing. But it didn’t matter….
