Think yoga doesn’t build muscle? Stop taking it so easy on yourself and give this Yoga For Weight Loss video a try!

I’ve come to realise that the inflammation my body is trying to fight off is not only because of my diet. It’s also because of the crazy pressures I’ve been forcing it to endure by working out twice a day 6 days a week. To help my body heal, I’ve put a hold on my pilates and NTC training and am instead refocusing on my daily yoga practice.

I think the real reason I kinda let my daily practice slide was because I wasn’t feeling the muscle tone that pilates or NTC gave me after my workouts. But this morning I realised it was because I was taking it too easy.

Thankfully Adriene released a Yoga for Weight Loss video recently! And guess what, I finally felt my Chaturanga fall into place!!

Even since I began practicing yoga, I’ve had an issue with this pose. My arms never felt strong enough to hold me, my alignment felt so out of joint, everything just felt wrong. And then this morning, it didn’t J yay! Progress!

What did I do differently? I think it had something to do with the placement of my hands. I kept them much closer together and when lower to the ground, my arms literally brushed my sides, nearly holding them in place, which then activated my core and I was able to hold the pose comfortable for about 5 seconds.

Now 5 seconds may not sound like much, but that’s a hellavu lot for someone who used to basically collapse to the floor. So, if you’re keen on practicing with me today, give Adriene’s video a try… Trust me, you won’t regret it.
